The Ultimate Gift Guide for Plant Lovers
So there's a plant lover on your gift list. The problem? Plants are hard to wrap, and you don't even know which ones they already have. What do you get for the plant lover in your life?
I get asked this question constantly, so I've put together a fun guide of gift ideas—all starting with the letter "F." Even better, I'm doing a giveaway of some of these products!

Free
We all know that every plant lover adores cuttings. Most plant enthusiasts can't resist the urge to propagate and grow something new. If you have established plants, cuttings make an easy, heartfelt gift—whether presented in a simple yogurt jar or displayed in a unique propagation vessel like this one from The Plant Patio.
Another free gift that could be a home run? A list of local plant swaps, with bonus points if you offer to drive. Plant swaps are amazing opportunities to acquire new plants and connect with other people who can talk for hours about a new leaf or the best type of soil.
Foldable
I love my foldable potting mat and use it constantly. I've even repotted more than a dozen plants while wearing white (bad planning on my part) without making a mess. It's easy to clean, easy to store, and keeps the dirt contained.
Fabric pot covers also make a nice addition to any plant room. I'm a big fan of keeping plants in nursery pots while still enjoying fun decor. I usually just use drop pots, but these cloth pot covers are a more practical choice. Because they're easy to store, you can even swap them out for seasonal decor.
Fuzzy
I know having special gloves for dusting plant leaves sounds extra, but I actually love them. Dust gets everywhere, even on our growing plants. Cleaning off the dust doesn't just make leaves shine—it helps plants breathe and photosynthesize more efficiently.
Functional
This is where I get to tell a story. One year I was on the phone with my mom while getting dinner ready, and she asked, "What do you want for your birthday?" At that exact moment, I was struggling with my worn-out can opener, which I'd been meaning to replace but kept forgetting about. So I said, "What I really need is a new can opener." That definitely caught her off guard, but I explained that mine was falling apart and it just kept slipping to the bottom of my to-do list.
My mom got me a can opener for my birthday, and every time I use it, I remember that she thought of me. I love gifts like that—something the person will actually use and that reminds them you were thinking of them, even if it's something small.
There are so many options in this category for plant lovers: watering cans, trellises, moisture meters, plant trays, misters, and dirt scoops.
Fun
There are countless fun plant items, from decorations to planters with cute sayings. Don't worry about your plant lover not needing another pot—if it's cute, they'll find a plant to put in it.
Friendly
Honestly I would put my clouds in every category, but I wanted to highlight Chelsea and her friendly smile. Our clouds are fun and functional and a great plant care companion for all ages.
Fast
If you've waited until the last minute, you can always get a gift card. But make it special: do a quick Google search for local plant shops and pick up a gift card from there.
I hope this list has been helpful! I'm including some of these ideas in a giveaway that's open now. The drawing will be held on December 10th and is open to US addresses only.
